A fire pit is a small decision that can undo a big one. If nobody ran gas to where it’s going, the patio comes back up. So it gets chosen and drawn with everything else, along with the seating around it.

Often, yes. It depends on the surface and, for gas, how the line gets there. A photo of the space is a good place to start.
